Imagine if you could identify the foundational steps to psychological wellness and why you respond as you do to situations and demands made of you. Our behavior is a logical response to the feedback we receive from the people around us. Does this mean others will see our behavior as logical? Of course not! But, once we understand how we are all structured, our behavior—and the behavior of others—always makes sense.
It’s Not Your Fault explores the cause-and-effect dynamics of human behavior. Research Psychologist Rogers Follansbee, PhD, first developed his theory, Structured Psychology, while working on his doctoral thesis about the defense mechanism Anna Freud called projection. This concept is widely used to explain some of the ways humans behave, but Follansbee has taken this concept a step further, using deductive logic to get to the heart of the matter. In doing so, he has uncovered “The Structure” of existence itself, and why the contradictions we face in life, while often frustrating and confusing, are also the function of life that keeps us moving forward. As we seek to achieve the goals we’ve set out for ourselves, we experience the ups and downs that life has in store for each and every one of us.
“Understanding” is key, and Follansbee hopes that by spreading his message, we can all:
- Understand how truly dependent we are on our relationships.
- Understand what really causes relational contradictions.
- Understand the ways we can combat contradictions constructively as opposed to destructively.
